Metallock Rust Converter is a water-based 100% acrylic polymer coating incorporating nano technology to deeply bind to all metal substrates. It is designed to be used as an undercoat when painting metal surfaces, utilising rust converters to treat surface rust and prevent bleed through to the topcoats.
If metal surfaces have significant rust which has started to eat away at the metal or rusted on the underneath surface, it is NOT recommended to use MetalLock Prime and instead replace the metal surface to prevent further degradation of the substrate and potential future leaks.

Application Guide
- Ensure thorough cleaning with high-pressure washing and complete drying.
- Check surface temperature – if it’s too hot to touch, it’s too hot to paint.
- Metal surfaces: Apply at 110m² per 20L pail, allowing 2 hours to dry before top coating and a minimum of 7 days to fully cure.

Step 1: Thorough high-pressure cleaning and surface preparation.
Step 2: MetalLock Rust Converter (allow proper dry time) onto the clean, rusted metal surface.
Step 3: Two coats of your chosen Tileguard® or Everguard topcoat
Safety & Technical
Non-hazardous in dry film form and suitable for drinking water collection (disconnect downpipes for two good rainfalls before reconnecting). Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
